5 Most Frequently Asked Questions About Attending Cosmetology School [Updated 2021]
If you’ve ever had a question related to starting a future as a cosmetologist, you can safely assume a lot of people before you had those same questions! It’s important to ask questions as part of the search for the best beauty school. That way you know exactly what you’re signing up for when the time comes for your new life adventure in beauty.
Here are a few questions we get quite often:
- How much does beauty school cost?
- Can I apply for financial aid?
- How long are your programs?
- When do classes start?
- Do you help with job placement?
These questions (and so many others) are great to ask when you’re on a tour at a beauty school so you can get a feel for the kind of support and culture you might experience if you decide to apply and enroll. Take a look at some of our answers to these questions and what you can expect if you were to ask our admissions team at Keune Academy by 124 these same questions!
1. How Much Does Beauty School Cost?
The cost of tuition is important when deciding to go to beauty school. When you’re looking into what might fit into your budget there are a few things you may want to consider when looking at price-points between schools:
- What is the quality of the education you are receiving?
- What is the school culture like?
- Do you qualify for financial aid or student loans to help cover tuition costs?
- Does the school offer extra perks like the state board kit, discounted products, and more?
If some of these things are important to you when deciding to go to a school, then it’s safe to say that paying a little extra for a better quality education can help you go further in your career!
We offer both a Master Cosmetology and a Hair Design program. If you’re ever curious to know what our tuition prices are for each program, our admissions team can walk you through the different prices and everything you can expect to get if you choose to apply to Keune Academy by 124.
2. Can I Apply for Financial Aid?
The answer to this question is, yes! We are fully accredited by NACCAS and financial aid is available to those who qualify. NACCAS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a national agency for the institutional accreditation of postsecondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences, including specialized schools.
The first step to seeing if you qualify for financial aid is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. The FAFSA® is a form that can help determine how much money you may qualify for from federal assistance. There are a few different options that a student might qualify for such as:
Once you’re done filling out your FAFSA® our financial aid department can help you make a plan of how you can pay for beauty school! Check out one of our recent blogs How To Pay For Cosmetology School to learn more about the types of financial aid you might qualify for and how to take advantage of them!
3. How Long Are Your Programs?
We offer both a Master Cosmetology program as well as a Hair Design program at our school. 4. When Do Classes Start?
We have classes that start every few months throughout the year. Our class calendar has helpful information on when our classes start. Depending on when you want to begin school, keep in mind it’s always better to start the application process sooner rather than later.
Starting school is a big life adventure that does take a bit of preparation on not only your part but the school’s part as well. We want to make sure that you are set up for success by helping you take a tour, apply for financial aid, take our entrance exam, and more.
You’ll have someone on our admissions team there to help you every step of the way, so you don’t need to worry if you have questions but it does take a few days to a few weeks to get students enrolled into their specific program. So if you’re thinking about starting beauty school, we suggest you start the application process as soon as you can!
